Amanda

AMANDA
Paramedic

Originally a Sydneysider, bubbly Amanda has been with Ambulance Victoria for just a few years. After a previous life in hospitality, she moved to Melbourne in 2009 and went back to school to study paramedicine. Amanda admits she’s a bleeding heart who might need to ‘toughen up’ but equally loves the humanity and compassion of the job.

Carina

CARINA
MICA Paramedic

Carina has spent her life looking after people, having first worked as a nurse, followed by a 15-year career with Ambulance Victoria. It’s the elderly patients that tug at her heartstrings. Outside of work, Carina also volunteers with a group that assists defence and emergency services personnel who suffer from PTSD and other mental health issues.

JAMIE
Paramedic

Laid-back larrikin and kickboxing fan Jamie has been a paramedic for 4 years. Only months into the role, he was called to his biggest job on November 21, 2016 – the day the unprecedented outbreak of thunderstorm asthma hit Melbourne and left emergency services under siege.

Leonard

LEONARD
Paramedic

Leonard has been a paramedic for more than 5 years and is also a clinical instructor. He’s obsessed with anatomy and previously worked as an undertaker! While studying, one of Leonard’s close friends passed away suddenly and the tragedy made him realise just how precious life is and cemented his decision to become a paramedic..

MARK
MICA Paramedic

MICA flight paramedic Matt flies all over Victoria treating and transporting patients to specialist services too far to reach by road. Matt immigrated to Australia from England when he was 10, and he has been a paramedic with Ambulance Victoria since 1999. With young kids of his own, Matt finds paediatric cases the toughest to attend.

Matt

MATT
MICA Flight Paramedic

A paramedic with air ambulance, Matt flies all over Victoria transporting patients to specialist services too far by road. Matt who immigrated to Australia from England when he was 10, has been a paramedic with AV since 1999. With a young family of his own, Matt has plenty of empathy for parents and helps keep them calm during stressful situations.

 

Michelle

MICHELLE ‘RISKY’
Paramedic

Born in country Victoria, Michelle, or ‘Risky’ as she is known, has been a paramedic for 10 years. She began her working life as a physio assistant but being stuck inside didn’t agree with her adventurous spirit! Risky loves the fact that no two days on the job are the same and it’s taught her to never take life for granted. Outside of work, Michelle is kept busy caring for her young children.

Mike

MIKE
Paramedic

Mike recently celebrated his second anniversary as a paramedic and is incredibly proud to work for Ambulance Victoria. He had the perfect training for this vital job, even before entering the field, as an emergency nurse in busy Frankston Hospital. Mike learnt how to deal with every type of patient.
Outside of work, Mike is a scout and a member of the Army Reserves. He also donates his time to Camp Quality, helping kids with cancer.

Natalie

NATALIE ‘NAT’
Paramedic

Nat has been a paramedic for 16 years, and there aren’t many scenarios she hasn’t dealt with. A mum of three, Nat adores her family and admits that paediatric cases hit close to home. She has a bunch of funny stories to tell from her time on the road.

 

Nicola

NICOLA ‘PICKLE’
Paramedic

Nicola has been a paramedic for 10 years. Her light-bulb moment came when her Nan was taken to hospital and her Mum looked at Nicola and said, “That’s the job for you darling” – and so it was. Outside of work, Nicola’s a huge footy fan who loves travelling!

Ray

RAY
MICA Flight Paramedic

Ray’s been a paramedic for 23 years, 8 as a MICA flight paramedic. Prior to joining Ambulance Victoria, Ray worked as an industrial chemist. He says that flying for a living was always his boyhood dream, and he feels incredibly lucky that it’s come true. Ray’s wife is also a paramedic and together, they have one child.

ROB
Motorcycle Paramedic

Rob’s been a paramedic for 23 years and a motorcycle responder since 2012. With the Melbourne CBD as is his office, Rob navigates the heaviest traffic to help patients at their most critical time. He loves his career on 2 wheels… except during Melbourne’s winter! Rob has 3 children and recently became a proud grandfather.

 

Taz

TARUN ‘TAZ’
Paramedic

Taz arrived in Melbourne from India in 2000. A medical professional in his homeland, he’s now been a paramedic with Ambulance Victoria for 18 years. “Old school” Taz still uses a printed street directory to get to jobs and insists it’s better than a GPS.

Eamon

Eamon
Paramedic

Eamon is the newest member of Paramedics and a recent graduate with Ambulance Victoria. One of five siblings (and a middle child!), Eamon jokes that he never got any attention growing up, which is maybe why he wanted to be on a TV show. Eamon was inspired to become a paramedic after seeing the care that paramedics gave to his younger brother while growing up. He became so much in awe of paramedics that he knew this is what he wanted to do to help other families like his own.

Doddsy

Paul “Doddsy”
Paramedic

New to Series 2, “Doddsy” is a paramedic veteran who has been with Ambulance Victoria for over 21 years. His long beard and tattoo-covered body ensure no one ever guesses he is a paramedic – leaving them surprised by his gentle and compassionate nature.

Glenice

Glenice
Paramedic

Glenice has been a paramedic for 28 years after starting with Ambulance Victoria in 1991 when she was 23. At that time, Glenice was among the first women to join the service! Today, Glenice’s daughter has already indicated she wants to follow in her mum’s footsteps.

Cam

Cam
Paramedic

Cam – affectionately known as ‘Cambo the Ambo’ – is an avid surfer and has been a Paramedic for 15 years, 10 as a MICA. Cam says “there’s nothing better than being able to work on a truck two up with a mate.”
He loves helping people and teaching graduates about the role.

Cullen

Cullen
Paramedic

Cullen has been a paramedic for 18 years, and jokes that he often gets called Callen, Collin, and even Colleen when attending to patients. He is a social and competitive mountain bike rider whose sporty side extends to charity. For the first time this year, Cullen took part in the Eureka Stair Climb. His wife of 15 years is a firefighter and she beat him on the climb by 34 seconds.
